Philip Hong

Pastor

Pastor Philip Hong came to the States in 1976 and grew up in Florida.

He grew up in a Christian home and received his calling into the ministry when he was in junior high. After graduating from the University of South Florida, he went into several businesses. He finally accepted the calling after getting married and had 2 children. Graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary (Wilmore, KY) with degrees in Master of Divinity and Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies.

Fluent in Korean and English, he pastored multi-ethnic churches in Florida and Georgia. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, walking, and gardening. He is passionate about preaching and evangelism. He believes in the T.E.A.M. concept of the ministry. He challenges you to become a part of Team St. Andrews!

Tondra Atkins

DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN’S MINISTRiES

My Name is Tondra McClung Atkins. I obtained my B.A. degree in Psychology in 1992 and completed several Special Education Courses at Virginia Commonwealth University. I have worked at VCU Dental Care for 25 years. I recently became the nursery worker for our “Littlest Angels” in August 2022. My journey as the Children’s Director began recently in March 2023. My goal is to use my education and past life experiences to teach our children, no matter what their age, that God loves them, and they are to share His love with others.

Roberta Dorr

Communications and Administrative assistant

Roberta Dorr joined the SAUMC staff in March of 2020 as the Communications and Administrative Assistant. She coordinates communications for the church, including the weekly e-newsletter, website, calendar, and social media. She supports worship by preparing bulletins and coordinating volunteer assignments. She provides general administrative support to the pastor, staff, and church lay leaders.

Felicia Howard

director of youth ministries

Felicia G. Howard earned a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from James Madison University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has served the foster care community in various capacities since her undergraduate studies. Felicia currently works full-time for the Virginia Department of Social Services on the COMPASS team as the Permanency Program Consultant.

Jean Edwards

Director of Music

Jean Edwards has served as the Director of Music at Saint Andrew’s UMC for over 40 years.  She plays both piano and organ at our worship services. She also directs the choir and coordinates special music.
