Our Story

Welcome to Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church.  We hope that you’ll take a minute to explore all of the ministries and opportunities we offer and plan to visit us for worship, a study or a meal.

In 1968 Saint Andrew’s was born from the joining of two congregations — Laurel Street United Methodist church, a historic downtown church that suffered a tragic fire, and Grace United Methodist Church, a church plant located in what was then remote outskirts of Henrico County.  It is from this marriage of both historic and new, city and country, that Saint Andrew’s finds its foundation.

Since that day, Saint Andrew’s has continued to be a beacon in this community welcoming people to a true church home.  Over the years many people have found Saint Andrew’s to be a place that share in their joy and comfort them in their times of struggle.

The life of our church is defined by three aspects of Christians living.  We seek to connect with God through worship and study, unite together in community to support each other in this common purpose, and serve our community near and far, through our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, and our witness.

We invite you to come and continue your journey with God here with us!
